Project Overview
Enhancing the Northern Portion of the Corridor
Streetscaping is one of the most visible ways to create a sense of place. Along Fulton Industrial Boulevard between Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Sandy Creek Road, which is within Atlanta city limits, the Fulton Industrial CID is planning improvements that will help workers, visitors, business owners and passersby recognize that they are moving through a defined and active industrial district.
This project features a number of streetscape enhancements that will beautify the northern portion of the corridor and improve pedestrian safety all while supporting a practical, maintainable design. Key features include:
- Enlargement of southbound sidewalks to 8 feet
- New decorative streetlights
- Landscaping along Fulton Industrial and medians using drought-tolerant, native trees and shrubs
- Decorative stamped concrete
- Opportunities for public art installations
Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway/Fulton Industrial Boulevard Intersection
The project also focuses on the intersection of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Fulton Industrial Boulevard, a key gateway into the northern end of the district. Planned improvements include
- Monument sign
- Landscaping surrounding the monument sign
- New traffic and pedestrian signaling posts
By improving pedestrian safety, lighting, landscaping and gateway recognition, this project supports the CID’s broader work to improve infrastructure and foster a stronger sense of community throughout the district.
