RJR Props and Set Dressing Services

Founded in 1991, RJR Props is a provider of props, equipment, set dressing and fake cash used in feature films, television series, commercials, advertising campaigns and music videos. RJR Props has supplied feature films such as The Hunger Games, Ant-Man, Spider-Man and The Fast and the Furious, as well as the piles of cash seen in the TV series “Ozark.”

We sat down with Rich Rappaport of RJR Props to discuss the unique advantages of working within the Fulton Industrial Boulevard corridor, which the business has called home for the last 23 years.

Rappaport has seen both economic and safety improvements over the course of time in the Fulton Industrial Boulevard corridor. Transporting equipment to and from filming locations, and the need for a large storage facility, give the corridor advantages unmatched anywhere else in Atlanta.

“We were here before Atlanta was known as the Hollywood of the South,” Rappaport said, “because we have thousands of props, some of them quite large, and we need to either keep them ready or get them to a filming location. Getting in and out of the area quickly, and getting the props to where they’re needed, is a vital part of our business success.”

With film and television production continuing to expand across Georgia supporting businesses, including prop houses, are relocating to Georgia, which potentially increases competition. But Rappaport is not worried.

“Our location in this district gives us a competitive advantage in supplying filmmakers with of all types of visual equipment they need, when they need it,” he said.
