About 11 miles of the world-famous Chattahoochee River run through the Fulton Industrial district. The CID is actively engaged with the Chattahoochee RiverLands Greenway Study, which seeks to establish a 125-mile uninterrupted multimodal trail across multiple metro-Atlanta communities.

As part of the study, the CID supports the Chattahoochee Working Group, which is a collection of stakeholders regularly engaged in river-related initiatives. CID leadership attends Chattahoochee River Master Plan meetings, which include more than 100 organizations involved in the effort.
