2025 Intersection Improvements

During the summer of 2025, GDOT replaced several span wire traffic signals with mast arms which provide a more rigid and stable support structure for signal heads and signs and require less maintenance than span wire systems. In addition, several long-overdue pedestrian safety enhancements were made, including upgrading equipment and updating pedestrian facilities to meet current ADA standards. The intersections receiving upgrades were:

• Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway at Bolton Road
• Fulton Industrial Boulevard at I-20
• Fulton Industrial Boulevard at Marvin Miller Drive
• Fulton Industrial Boulevard at Patton Drive

More improvements at the Fulton Industrial Boulevard/I-20 interchange were initiated in August 2024 with the demolition of two vacant, crime-riddled hotels that were purchased by Fulton County as part of its Renew the District initiative.
