PepsiCo – Gatorade
The Fulton Industrial CID is home to one of PepsiCo’s seven U.S. Gatorade manufacturing plants. From its location on Westgate Parkway, PepsiCo produces more than 45MM cs each year that is distributed throughout the United States. There are more than 400 employees working at the plant and at peak times of the year, more than 250 trucks are coming and going from the facility. “The improvements the CID has made over the past decade definitely have been noticed and appreciated,” said Benita Chinn, CID board member and recently retired head of operations for U.S. Gatorade manufacturing operations. The beautification and public safety measures the CID has undertaken have made a big difference in helping plant employees feel safer. “Overall crime on the boulevard is lower and vehicle break-ins have been reduced significantly. CID Public Safety Director Frank Mazzilli is doing a great job working with Fulton County Police to ensure there is a greater police presence along the boulevard.”
Benita also noted that the numerous license plate readers (LPRs) that have been installed throughout the district are helping to reduce and solve criminal activity. Improvements like this benefit all of the businesses that operate in the area and Benita finds it rewarding to be involved with the CID to see projects such as this become a reality.
