Jerry Pate Company
Jerry Pate Company, a provider of turf, irrigation and outdoor beautification products, has called the Fulton Industrial area home for its Atlanta operations since 2005. Headquartered in Pensacola, the company’s customer base includes turf equipment dealers, golf courses, sports facilities, schools and universities, municipalities, irrigation contractors, government agencies, and more.
Jamie Pate, son of former PGA Tour player and founder Jerry Pate, oversees operations for the Atlanta market’s approximately 40 employees, 25 of whom work in the office on Tulane Drive. Jamie joined the company in 2006 upon graduation from Florida State University and moved to Atlanta in 2012 where The Jerry Pate Company has a significant and growing industry market share. “When I arrived from Pensacola, things were much different than what we see today,” said Jamie.
At that time, the Fulton Industrial CID was just starting its efforts to transform the area. Jamie has witnessed firsthand the numerous improvements that have been made. “We have owned our building since 2005 and chose this location for our Atlanta operations in 2004 after purchasing a turf-care company in Georgia, said Jamie. “Being on the west side of town is especially convenient for distribution activity between here and our facilities in Birmingham and Pensacola. The area is well located for our customer base – close to downtown with easy interstate access for serving the many golf courses throughout the region.” In addition, most of the company’s employees live on the west and south sides of town and have a short commute to work. Jamie is especially appreciative of how much the CID’s public safety program has helped to significantly reduce crime. And when there are issues, the police are quick to respond.
