Fulton Industrial Boulevard/Cascade Road/Camp Creek Streetscapes
Project Overview
Primary and Secondary District Gateway Enhancements
The original Fulton Industrial Master Plan identified the Camp Creek Parkway and Cascade Road intersections with Fulton Industrial Boulevard as primary and secondary gateways into the district. Additionally, stakeholders identified the enhancement of these gateways with both operational and streetscape improvements as a top priority for the CID. Following GDOT’s operational improvements to the Camp Creek Parkway/Fulton Industrial Boulevard intersection in 2017 as part of an SR 6 multi-intersection improvement project in Douglas, Cobb and Fulton Counties, the CID began the process of tackling operational improvements at the Cascade Road/Fulton Industrial Boulevard intersection and streetscape enhancements throughout that intersection and surrounding areas, including the Camp Creek Parkway/Fulton Industrial Boulevard intersection.
The project includes safety and operational upgrades to the Cascade Road/Fulton Industrial Boulevard intersection that will improve access to and allow for safer travel through the entire district for both passenger and commercial vehicles. Additionally, the project includes new landscaping, sidewalks, streetlights, enhanced pedestrian safety crosswalks and islands, gateway signage, and public art.
Project Funding
In 2019, the CID committed $455,000 toward design and engineering, and in early 2021, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) awarded $2.8 million toward the project. Another $1 million in TSPOLST funds from Fulton County is allocated to the project.
